Parents play a major role in the success of their children. We have listed some tips to aid parents in helping their children at home.
Reading Tips 1. Read to your child. 2. Talk about what’s happening in the story. 3. Encourage your child to make predictions about what will happen next. 4. Talk with your child about their reading preferences (adventure, mystery, etc.). 5. Take them to the library or bookstore. 6. Set a time everyday when the TV gets turned off and everyone reads something. Homework Tips 1. Ask your children about school. What happened that day? What did they learn? How did they feel about it? 2. Set up a quiet and comfortable study area. 3. Set a family “quiet time” where everyone can do homework, read, write, or play games. 4. If you don’t understand your child’s homework, don’t be afraid to ask the teacher. For more information on reading press this weblink. For more information on homework press this weblink.
